We are proud of our Eco Schools Silver Award status and RHS Gardening Award Level 4.
Our Eco Warriors are made up of staff and children who are committed to keep the school Eco- friendly. We run an Eco Club and Gardening Club on a weekly basis to ensure that the school environment is blossoming with a variety of plants, herbs, fruits and vegetables. These are then used in our very own school kitchen! You may even like to purchase some of our produce at our Summer Fair.
We are committed to reducing, reusing and recycling. As a school we discuss the importance of reducing waste and compost on a daily basis. Hackbridge Primary School is dedicated to teach children about how to care for the planet and each year group uses their Cornerstone topics to ensure that children are taught about the importance of looking after the environment. For example, in Year 2 the children have a visit from a Bee keeper to show how honey is made and the importance of ‘bee friendly’ gardens. The school also participates in The Pod’s ‘Waste Week’ and the RSPB ‘Bird Watch’.
Our children have many opportunities to explore Bio-Diversity and growth through our school pond area and Doreen’s Garden.
