Swimming
All children are provided with a term of swimming during Year 4. These lessons are provided by Everyone Active teachers at Westcroft Leisure Centre in Carshalton.
We are required to support children so that they are able to swim 25 metres by the time they leave us in Year 6. We now provide a term of booster lessons during Year 5 aimed at those who have not yet achieved this distance. We also consider each year whether a further term of booster lessons needs to be offered again in Year 6 during the final part of the summer term.
PLEASE NOTE THAT DUE TO CORONAVIRUS when Westcroft Leisure Centre was not open, in 2021/2022, both current Year 4 and current Year 5 will attend a term of swimming lessons at some point during the year.
* 2017/18 Total number of Year 5 children now achieving 25 metres is 35/81 43.2%
