Food & Drink at SNS

At Spencer Nursery School, children's meals are included within their daily nursery fee. This includes breakfast, a mid morning snack and a school dinner for all children attending, as well as an afternoon tea for those children who stay after 4pm each day.

The school is a nut free zone.

School Dinners

All children attending Spencer Nursery School have a school dinner at lunchtime (unless extreme allergies mean that the caterer is unable to provide this). Payments for school dinners are made within the daily fee structure for Spencer Nursery School.

The school catering contract is run by Caterlink.

A hot school meal which meets the School Food Standards is cooked fresh each day. Our caterer will always make allowances for religious reasons and food allergies, if known in advance. School meals contain healthy options.

The menu works on a 3 week rota, with week beginning dates listed to the left, so that you know what week each menu falls on.

If your child has dietary requirements these will be discussed with you, their Key Person and the Caterer during the admission process.

Information regarding free school meals is available at the school office. Application is easy and confidential and can be done either on-line or by telephone through the local authority.

Anyone eligible for a free school meal and who registers their eligibility by simply completing the application here will save themselves hundreds of pounds per year and your child will benefit from a healthy hot school meal. They will also help raise money for the school following a government commitment to pay schools for each pupil registered.

Daily Fruit/Snack

Each day, children will be provided with a morning snack, which is either fruit or a small portion of carbohydrate such as a rice cake or bread stick.
