School Travel Plan for Hackbridge Primary School
Welcome to the Hackbridge Primary Safe Travel page.
Some of our wonderful travel ambassadors have created their very own Road Safety Advert - check it out:
We are proud that our school has been awarded a Gold award in recognition of achievement in active and safer travel initiatives.
Our school takes part in the TFL STARS scheme that inspires young Londoners to think differently about travel and its impact on their health, wellbeing and the environment. We take part to reduce congestion, improves the quality of the air around school, improve road safety and improve health and wellbeing by inspiring children to be more physically active.
Our Junior Travel Ambassadors are Year 4 and Year 5 students who are committed to promoting road safety and active travel. We run several road safety assemblies throughout the year so that our students feel confident walking on the roads. Alongside, we promote active travel and road safety within classroom, with school wide competitions and training sessions. As many students walk, cycle or scoot to school, we want to ensure they have the skills and understand the rules of the road.
Research states that taking part in active travel has many positive effects. We have several initiatives to promote walking, cycling and scooting. We really appreciate the wonderful support of parents to help us achieve this.

We always welcome Travel ideas and Travel group volunteers. If you would like to support our Travel Plan, please contact the school office.
Many thanks,
